5g specs announced: 20gbps download, 1ms latency, 1m devices per square km

In contrast, the peak data rate for current LTE cells is about 1Gbps. The incoming 5G standard must also support up to 1 million connected devices per square kilometre, and the standard will require carriers to have at least 100MHz of free spectrum, scaling up to 1GHz where feasible. These requirements come from the ITU's draft report on the technical requirements for IMT-2020 (aka 5G) radio interfaces, which was published Thursday. The document is technically just a draft at this point, but that's u

draft 5g specs lay the groundwork for a real standard

On the back end, cell sites should have a minimum of 20Gbps downstream and 10Gbps upstream to share with their connected users. The technology should also handle 1 million or more devices per square kilometer (about 0.38 square miles), although Ars Technicanotes that this is more likely for low-demand Internet of Things devices rather than urban hubs full of smartphones. There's the chance that these specs could change between now and when they're likely to be approved at an ITU meeting in November. Even if they do, though, this is a big step -- it gives carriers and equipment makers a target they can work with. While the hardware and a formal standard are still a ways off, the ball is finally rolling.

tomb raider reboot comes to android, exclusive to shield tv

Who said Android couldn’t have triple-A games? Well, technically some Android devices, specifically NVIDIA’s SHIELD devices, can, but through GeForce NOW or GameStreaming. Given hardware constraints, it just isn’t possible to have native, resource-intensive games on Android. Or is it? Square Enix and NVIDIA certainly don’t think so. Showing off both Square Enix’s development chops as well as the NVIDIA SHIELD Android TVs powerful hardware, the two have made the 2013 reboot of Tomb Raider available natively on Android, though limited only to the NVIDIA SHIELD.The NVIDIA SHIELD does run on a Tegra X1 processor, the very same chip, though most likely upgraded and customized, that powers the Nintendo Switch. Unlike the Switch, however, the SHIELD isn’t so hampered by some specs. It isn’t as po

5g specification sets 100mbps minimum download speed

It’s been a long time coming, but the finishing touches are being put to the upcoming 5G networking specification. The ITU has just published a draft report for IMT-2020 radio interfaces, also known as 5G, which will be finalized sometime in November 2017. Once the specification is complete, there’s still a period of hardware consultation, followed by countries dividing up spectrum before carrier can actually turn on their networks. There’s still a long road ahead, but this draft gives us quite a good idea about what to expect from 5G.Leaping right on in into speeds, the specification states that 5G base stations will have to offer at least 20Gbps download and 10Gbps uplink to consumers. That sounds mighty fast, but remember that will be divided up among all of the customers in the area. T

sony xperia xa1 and xperia xa1 ultra announced

Sony has not had a lot of sales success with its Xperia lineup of Android smartphones, especially outside of Japan. That’s not stopping Sony from trying however, as it hopes to win us over with the new devices that are being announced today at Mobile World Congress. So what does Sony have in store for us? Four new phones, two of which we cover in another post. He we focus on the Xperia XA1 and Xperia XA1 Ultra, the successors to the previous Xperia XA and XA Ultra phones that were first released in 2016.Like their predecessors, the Xperia XA1 has a 5-inch display while the Xperia XA1 Ultra has a big 6-inch screen. Both have edge-to-edge displays, again much like the previous phones, but still have large top and bottom bezels. Both of the Xperia XA1 models also have 23MP rear cameras for pe

android 7.1.2 beta available for nexus 6p with no fingerprint gestures support

Late on Friday, owners of Google’s Nexus 6P who are signed up to get Android beta releases were finally able to download Android 7.1.2 Nougat via an over-the-air update. The beta of the next Nougat update was first released for other Google-supported devices a month ago.See also:Nexus 6 and 9 won’t be updated to Android 7.1.2 Nougat4 weeks agoWhile the OTA update is rolling out (it’s a 1.29 GB file), the factory image download for the Nexus 6P is not yet available on Google’s site. Hopefully, that download will be added very soon. The build number for the download is NPG05F.One small thing about the Android 7.1.2 beta for the Nexus 6P is that it lacks fingerprint gestures support. It’s possible that Google might add it to the final version of 7.1.2, but at the moment, it looks like Nexus 6

Andrew Myrick Mar 8th, 2017It’s that time of the year folks. The time where we see another smartphone announced on an almost weekly basis. This time around, we’ll be looking forward to Oppo’s announcement of the Oppo F3 and F3 Plus on March 23rd.Although the invitation doesn’t specifically mention the devices, these are the devices we’ve been hearing the most about. Oppo has taken a different approach to smartphones recently by focusing on the selfie cameras, versus focusing on the main shooters. We are expecting to see a dual-selfie camera in either the F3 or F3 Plus, but there’s no way to tell as of yet. It also wouldn’t surprise us if the devices featured dual-cameras on the front and rear.Other rumored specs for the F3 Plus include the Snapdragon 653, along with 4GB of RAM and

So far, we have seen tons of images and videos of the Galaxy S8 and S8+. There are also a bunch of rumors going around regarding the specs, so we already know a lot about the devices, despite the fact that they will be officially announced on March 29.What we don’t know is how the upcoming smartphones will stack up against its predecessors and a few other devices in terms of size. We now have a good idea regarding this as well, thanks to CAD mockups released by Steve Hemmerstoffer, who is better known as @onleaks on Twitter. As you can see from the images, the Galaxy S8 is narrower than the Galaxy S7. This is quite interesting, as the S7 has a 5.1-inch screen, while the Galaxy S8 is rumored to come with a much larger 5.8-inch screen. This is mainly because the screen has a different aspect

how to get the gboard for android update on your phone (apk download)

This week we’re having a peek at the newest version of Gboard for Android, a keyboard made by Google. This keyboard goes above and beyond what the normal, traditional onscreen keyboard offers, giving suggestions for all sorts of thing. This newest update – which requires a new download – includes web, GIF, and emoji search, as well.Whats odd about this update is that the announcement from Google came a bit after the update was released. In addition to Google Play, this newest version of Gboard for Android is available on APK Mirror for download in APK

htc's ai sense companion app now available on google play store

Back in January, HTC announced the U Ultra and U Play smartphones that are equipped with a digital assistant called HTC Sense Companion. This feature, which provides you with relevant information throughout the day that should make your life a little easier, is now officially available for the devices. Users can download the app for free from the Google Play Store.Unfortunately, it looks like the Sense Companion app doesn’t really do that much. It provides you with info cards containing reminders, a weekly step count summary, and restaurant recommendations around your location, among others. It doesn’t support voice interaction as initially expected, which means it is nowhere near as good or useful as Google’s Assistant.See also:HTC U Ultra officially begins shipping in the US for $7494 da

huawei watch 2 specs, price, release date and everything else you should know

The original Huawei Watch is perhaps one of the most popular Android Wear devices to ever exist. While a tad pricey for some, the original Watch offers up a more “watch-like” design, thanks to its circular display. It also has a long-lasting battery, straps that are easily replaceable, and comes in plenty of different color variants. Some users prefer a sportier watch though, which is where the OG Huawei Watch falls a bit short. It’s quite the classy looking wearable, but you certainly wouldn’t want to go on a run with it. So, in hopes of pleasing a wider variety of users, Huawei is announcing two new Android Wear devices, the Huawei Watch 2 and Huawei Watch 2 Classic.See also:Huawei P10 and P10 Plus announced: here’s what you need to know1 hour agoHuawei Watch 2 and Watch 2 Classic feature
