aol seemingly cutting off third-party app access to aim starting on march 28

AOL announced today that it is starting to cut off third-party app access to its Instant Messenger service. As first noticed by ArsTechnica, AOL began notifying users of at least one third-party app, Adium, that it would become obsolete starting on March 28th.At this point, it’s unclear whether or not all third-party applications will be rendered useless come March 28th, but the message presented to Adium users seemed to strongly imply that:Hello. Effective 3/28, we will no longer support connections to the AIM network via this method. If you wish to use the free consumer AIM product, we invite you to visit http://www.aim.com for more information.ArsTechnica’s report notes that no such message appeared for a user of the Trillian messaging app, while one another was unable to connect her AI

The phones originally suffered a confirmed defect where some components were not adequately soldered to the phones’ motherboards, causing them to freeze and reboot whenever the phones began to heat up.LG had actually acknowledged this issue and claimed to fix it, with the company offering device repairs and exchanges to those affected. google ditches captcha test to check you're not a bot

Google has axed its manual Captcha security tool to make way for a new, invisible system that can automatically detect non-human website visitors. Until now, internet users have often been asked to retype a series of distorted letters to prove they are a human and not a malicious robot – a system known as Captcha: "Completely Automated Public Turing test to tell Computers and Humans Apart".On some sites, this has been replaced with "No Captcha reCaptcha", where all that is required is clicking a checkbox. However, Google says it has now developed the technology to such a point that users will no longer be required to do either of these methods. It says: "Since the launch of No Captcha reCaptcha, millions of internet users have been able to attest they are human with just a single click.""No
