budapest’s finest: the creative process of nanushka’s sandra sandor

Sandra Sandor first established contemporary womenswear brand Nanushka almost 13 years ago, after graduating from the London College of Fashion in 2005.The Budapest-based business has gained international acclaim: Sandor has an impressive track record for designing It-items, garments and accessories that become social media favourites at the point of their release, selling out almost immediately. It all started with the Hide puffer jacket. Sandor's take on the après-ski favourite retains the design's voluminous line; sportswear fabrics are replaced with a newly developed and washable vegan leather that is luxurious to the touch."I never know whether something will be a hit or not", says Sandor. "For example, the puffer, there are so many puffer jackets around. But I think it's the washable

awesome 80s typography with the sonnyfive

I am a fan of the 80s, I believe everybody must know by now but it's always good to remind you all about that. It explains why I will always post anything that reminds me of that decade, especially typography. That is the case of The Sonnyfive typeface created and shared by Sándor Szalay on his Behance profile. It reminds me of the James White font that we featured years back but a bit more aggressive. I also like the posters that Sandor create to showcase the usage of the typeface. Quite inspiring. You can also purchase the font if you love it like I do.Sándor Szalay is a designer from Budapest, Hungary, for more information make sure to check out https://www.behance.net/fivetwentyfive

sneak peek: this woman is desperate to save her granddaughter from a catfish

A hip grandma is trying to catch a catfish on Wednesday night's episode of the MTV show -- and save her beloved granddaughter from heartache in the process."Yasmine met a guy named Lewis almost a year ago but didn't tell me about it," Sandra writes to Nev and Max in the sneak peek, below. "My maternal instincts told me she was dating someone. I was unsure where or how she met him, but after much snooping, I found out she was constantly chatting with the guy online."Getting super-suspicious of her granddaughter's new beau, she began questioning Yasmine -- but was met with radio silence. Even worse, Sandra then found something uber-disturbing in Yasmine's room, and when she confronted her about it, Yasmine finally spilled the beans. And that, friends, is when Lewis' romantic intentions becam

hand knit company granny's finest to cease operations

Photo: Depositphotos.comA not-for-profit company known as Granny’s Finest is shutting down operations after seven years of selling hand knits to the general public, business broadcaster RTL Z said on Thursday.Almost 900 ‘grannies and granddads’ had knitted scarfs, hats and jumpers for the foundation and the Bijenkorf was among its outlets, the broadcaster said.In a letter to knitters, the organisers say that they have been advised to file for bankruptcy. ‘This means we have to stop the great adventure that has been Granny’s Finest,’ the letter says. The letter lists a number of reasons why the company failed: it was too seasonally-based, logistics costs were high and the production process too slow.Founder Niek van Hengel declined to give further details to RTL Z apart from to say the compa

introducing adobe creative resident jessica bellamy

Today marks the celebration of Jessica Bellamy, our fifth Adobe Creative Residency talent hailing from the lovely Louisville, Kentucky. Bellamy specializes in infographic design by telling visual and personalized stories using data with a focus on driving social change. As a former PR professional myself, I personally appreciate this vertical within design as infographics are something I have heavily relied on to catch media's attention with a story idea. Bellamy has a strong (and might we add altruistic) belief that good work deserves good design predominantly partnering with nonprofits and community groups to help create compelling materials that break down complex customer, service and policy information. During her year long residency thanks to Adobe,  Bellamy will be pursuing new appr

perhaps it's the play that should be homeless

Playwright Brooke Robinson's idea was good. The play's quirky title, you see, is an advertisement. Sandra, at 58 and receiving chemotherapy, is lumbered with group living as the only affordable means of accommodation. Ejected from the place she's shared for the last four years, she finds that her age bumps her to the back of the queue when auditioning for a room.Robinson's commendable intention was to show how the descent to homelessness is only a hop, step and stumble away for us all. Whereas Daniel Keen's play Mother (earlier this year) dealt with the issue in flashbacks from the perspective of someone already sleeping rough, Robinson wanted to present the unfolding of that downward slide.Directed by Marion Potts for Griffin Theatre Company, the production has Tara Morice as Sandra, Fays

nicole kidman and sandra bullock have practical magic reunion

Practical Magic fans who tuned into the red carpet of the 90th Annual Academy Awards on Sunday were treated to an unexpected reunion between the movie’s two iconic stars. As Sandra Bullock filled ABC in on the upcoming all-female Ocean’s 8 reboot leading up to the show, Nicole Kidman snuck up to join her onetime co-star. After feigning annoyance at Kidman’s surprise appearance, Bullock recalled a memory from their time filming the 1998 cult classic.“We were actually talking about you today,” she told Kidman. “We were talking about when we shot together and we asked her to get the tequila. She came back with her own tequila but we drank it anyway. We were a little drunk.”Oscar viewers were obviously enchanted by this magical callback and took to social media to express their love for the Owe

sandra bullock talks college days in new interview

College is a tough time for students across America. Between paying tuition and added expenses like housing, boarding and meal plans, students everywhere have to find viable ways to make money. Even actress Sandra Bullock had to do it.Bullock said that she found a creative way to make ends meet while in school during a game of “Burning Questions” on Thursday’s (May 17) episode of The Ellen DeGeneres Show. When DeGeneres asked the Ocean’s 8 star what the “weirdest thing” she ever did to make money was, Bullock simply replied, “I used to open up for drag queens in North Carolina by dancing.”DeGeneres, stunned, asked, “Really? Where? Like at a club?” Bullock replied, “College,” referencing her time at East Carolina University. “You were the precursor to the drag queens? That’s fantastic,” Ell

sandra oh on stereotypes and first lead role in 'killing eve'

Four years after leaving Grey’s Anatomy, Sandra Oh finally has her own show. She stars as MI-5 desk jockey Eve Polastri, a woman undergoing a mid-life crisis before she discovers psychopath-turned-assassin Villanelle (Jodie Comer) on BBC America’s Killing Eve. Eve and Villanelle begin a game of cat and mouse in which the two increasingly become obsessed with one another.Oh immediately fell in love with the suspenseful but surprisingly funny show, written by Fleabag creator Phoebe Waller-Bridge. But when Oh first flipped through the script, she was confused about which role she was being asked to play. “She assumed we wanted her for someone other than Eve,” Waller-Bridge told TIME. “Which is crazy to think about because she’s Sandra Oh. jimmy choo: the baldwyn boot

While designing this collection, I was channelling the idea of glamour at Jimmy Choo: dressing up, being seen, being noticed. Making a statement – the good kind of statement!Formalwear is one angle that I touched on, and the latest collection is designed with that in mind. I wanted it to be rich and luxurious, but at the same time urban. My inspiration came from the regal, elaborate concept of royalty. I then digested all of that and an idea evolved for a tech-focused boot.First and foremost, the Baldwyn is a very rugged trekking boot but it was inspired by a trainer. Secondly, if you look at the sole, it is refined. The embossed ‘lizard leather’ that makes up the upper element of the design is merged with this sole, which itself has been fused from rubber and another type of PU leather. W

french montana: ciroc vodka's newest face

In the illustrious history of collabs between the liquor world and music’s finest, if there’s one pioneer that comes to mind, it’s Diddy -- since 2007, he’s been making a name for the brand while setting the precedent for other hip-hop and rap greats to follow in his footsteps as thriving businessmen and women outside of the studio.
