samsung galaxy note 8 codenamed “great”, begs to be debunked

Pride cometh before the fall? Perhaps. It is definitely a case of tempting fate. Word has gone out that Samsung has chosen a codename for this year’s Galaxy Note phablet and, while it doesn’t really tell us anything new, it does hint at the company’s ambitions for the device. The Galaxy Note 8 will supposedly be called, at least internally, “Great”, perhaps to juxtapose it with the not so great Galaxy Note 7. Of course, in doing so, Samsung is almost challenging everyone to prove it wrong. While Samsung’s recovery rests on the shoulders of the Galaxy S8, the Galaxy Note 8’s task will not be easier. Some have already called on Samsung to retire the line, fearing that the Galaxy Note name is forever cursed. Slapping on a “Great” codename, one that will most likely be forgotten once the news g

report: samsung galaxy note 8 codenamed `great`

Samsung’s Galaxy Note series of smartphones is quite popular among consumers. Well, at least it was until the Galaxy Note 7 came along. In case you’ve missed it — which I doubt — Samsung had a lot of problems with its phablet. The company had to recall the Galaxy Note 7 last year because of safety issues.Nevertheless, the company still plans on announcing its successor, the Galaxy Note 8, sometime this year. And it looks like it has big plans for the device. According to a report from SamMobile, the codename of the upcoming phablet is apparently “Great”, which really is an interesting choice by Samsung. Let’s hope that the device will be able to live up to its name so that it won’t explode in your hand and possibly even destroy your car like the Galaxy Note 7 did.See also:Galaxy Note 7 fir

Ashley King Mar 6th, 2017A couple of weeks ago, we reported on a rumor that suggested Samsung would consider refurbishing spare Galaxy Note 7 phones laying around by retrofitting them with safer batteries and selling them in emerging markets like Indonesia and Vietnam. It only took Samsung a day later to come out and deny that rumor, but a new report suggests they may be working on the idea anyway. The report from SamMobilesays that Samsung is considering a refurbished Galaxy Note 7 for the South Korean market with the model number SM-N935, which differs from the SM-N930 model number of the original handset. SamMobile is quick to point out that this hasn’t been confirmed by Samsung (it’s actually been explicitly denied) but it’s possible Samsung wants to keep the wraps on this unti

here's how the galaxy s8 and s8 plus compare to previous samsung flagships

Andrew Myrick Mar 8th, 2017We’ve seen lots of leaked images and some videos of the Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus. However, something we aren’t so sure about are the dimensions of both upcoming devices. Thanks to @OnLeaks, we not only have a better look at the dimensions, but we also can see how the S8 and S8 Plus will stack up to previous Samsung flagships. Starting with the Galaxy S6, and going all the way up to the Galaxy S8 Plus, you can see the steady increase in size that Samsung has been giving us over the years. In fact, the Galaxy S8 Plus will be even larger than the mammoth Galaxy Note 7, which is saying something. Then, once you factor in the “Infinity Display” and slimmer bezels, and the Galaxy S8 Plus could be a pain to use, or it could be the best thing since sliced bread.Alth

Ashley King Mar 6th, 2017Samsung is under huge pressure to get the Galaxy S8 just right at launch. The South Korean company is hoping to make up for the Galaxy Note 7 fiasco with the upcoming smartphone and with stiff competition from the LG G6 launching a few weeks ahead of the Galaxy S8, Samsung wants to make sure everything is perfect for its new handset. While an official launch date hasn’t been announced so it can’t really be considered a delay, a new report suggests that Samsung will launch the Galaxy S8 on April 28th instead of April 21st, as originally intended. The report doesn’t get into the specifics of the delay, but it’s not hard to imagine Samsung is being as cautious as possible since the Galaxy S8 will be its recovery from the Note 7 disaster. rumor suggests galaxy s8 to come in violet color

Ashley King Mar 7th, 2017So far all we’ve seen is a few leaked photos and renders of the Galaxy S8, but a new rumor suggests that the phone may come in an interesting new color. Noted leaker Roland Quandt has tweeted that the Galaxy S8’s retail listings are showing up for colors black, silver, and violet. Samsung will probably have different descriptors for these colors once the phones have been officially unveiled, but this isn’t that surprising. The Galaxy Note 7’s Coral Blue proved so popular that Samsung brought the same color to the Galaxy S7 Edge. Could violet be the color of 2017? What do you think? Would you sport a purple phone?
