google home just scored a huge victory over alexa

Google Home has overtaken Amazon’s Echo in smart speaker shipments for the first time, it’s claimed, with the Google Assistant edging out Alexa in sales. Although there have been several contenders in the smart speaker wars, two rival platforms currently lead the market. Amazon led the way, with its Alexa-powered Echo speaker. Released, back in late 2014, and now with several generations of hardware under its belt, the virtual assistant counts thousands of third-party “skills” in its app store. Google, meanwhile, followed on in May 2016 with Google Home, packaging the Assistant technology it had been using on Android smartphones into a standalone device. Amazon’s time advantage, coupled with numerous promotions on Echo and Echo Dot speaker sales, had given it a lead in shipment numbers. Ac

google home max is the company's smartest speaker, all thanks to smart sound

GoogleIt’d be accurate to call 2017 the year of the smart speaker, and judging by what we saw at CES 2018 this year might not be any different. Just about every manufacturer we can think of is planning to build an Assistant- or Alexa-powered smart speaker, but there’s still some uncharted territory in the space.I’m talking about high-end smart speakers — speakers offering the best sound quality they can, usually for a few hundred bucks. Your options are pretty limited if you want a high-end smart speaker, but some competition in brewing in the space. While Amazon still hasn’t thrown its hat in the ring, Apple’s $349 HomePod launches February 9, and Google launched its Home Max speaker a few weeks ago. When you’re trying to sell a speaker for hundreds of dollars, it needs to stand out from t

presstv-google to launch new home smart speaker

The technology giant, Google, is about to launch its Home smart speaker in the UK.The Wi-Fi speaker works as a smart control center and uses Google search as well as maps, Gmail and other Google services to help users manage everyday tasks. It is able to filter and separate speech from noise, allowing users to ask Google anything they want.Google Home has been launched to compete with Echo, developed by Google’s rival, Amazon. google behind in american smart speaker user base, at 18.4%

A survey of over 1,000 Americans concluded smart speaker ownership is at about 1 in 5, an astounding feat for a three-year-old market.Among other data the report reveals, Amazon is clearly leading the market with 71.9 percent market share to Google’s 18.4 percent. The survey also has some interesting revelations about people who don’t own smart speakers, notably that 50 percent of them plan to buy one this year. It’s incredible to think how quickly the smart speaker market has exploded. When you remember that Amazon Echo first went on sale in June 2015, it illuminates just how fast-paced the smart home market has become.According to a new survey of over 1,000 Americans released by Voicebot, in collaboration with PullString and RAIN, the amount of American adults who own at least one smart sp

bixby speaker rumors spark even as voice remains absent in us

As expected, Apple has just jumped on the smart speaker arena that Google, Amazon, and, soon, Microsoft already occupy. And as expected, this has started rumors that Apple’s biggest frenemy will also be joining the fray. Samsung is now believed to be aiming for a piece of that pie, with patents pointing to potential smart speaker powered by Bixby no less. There is probably no better time to jump on the smart home speaker train. The recent launch of the Amazon Show and Google’s promise of new features at the I/O conference last month revived interest in the young and niche product. With Apple and Microsoft joining the game, that market is about to get even more exciting, not to mention profitable. With its own fledging smart assistant, it only seems natural that Samsung would want in as well.
