dutch supreme court slams tax office over company car checks

Photo: Jarino via Depositphotos.comThe tax office must stop checking car number plates recorded on police motorway cameras in their efforts to catch people who cheat on their company car allowance, the supreme court said on Friday. There is insufficient provision in law to allow the tax office to use the scans to check if people are using company cars for private business, the court said. The court was judging three separate cases brought by people who were given a tax surcharge after officials said their cars were not where they should have been according to their kilometer log.Company car drivers have to pay extra tax if they use their vehicles to travel more than 500 km a year for private purposes and have to keep a log of their movements to prove it.PrivacyThe court ruled that using the

what's the delay with the gargasoulas trial?

The Bourke Street massacre was committed in broad daylight on a Friday lunchtime. Virtually every inch of the route taken by the car allegedly driven by Jimmy Gargasoulas is covered by CCTV or some other footage, and there are thousands of eyewitnesses. The suspect himself was shot by police then dragged from the car at the end of the trail of carnage he allegedly left.
Politicians and victims of crimes were among the people to take part in the vigil. Photo: Eddie JimWell before Gargasoulas allegedly took his fateful turn onto Melbourne's busiest pedestrian mall on January 20, police had been watching him closely – though arguably not closely enough. What happened that day is, in other words, a well-known quantity. So why, as the Director of Public Prosecutions, John Champion, QC, recent

supreme court pitches for affordable justice -india legal

Lawyer R Venkataramani, who is also a member of the Scheme, said that in the past, the legal assistance programme could not attract needy litigants. A fresh attempt is now being made to reach out to them so that their litigations could be contested by experienced lawyers at a nominal cost, which is far below the prevailing fee in the Supreme Court and elsewhere.Every person who desires to avail of the services of an advocate empanelled under the Scheme will have to approach its secretary by filing an application in a prescribed form along with the relevant documents. Once the papers are received, they will be assigned to the Advocate-on-Record (AoR) of the choice indicated by the applicant. In case that AoR “opines that this is not a fit case” for moving in the Supreme Court, the applicant

Azealia appeared immediately after she returned to New York," Vafa told Pitchfork in a statement.

“judge wanted to dismiss the case in the courtroom”

Why did you withdraw your petition in the Supreme Court?  Actually, on 17th we put forth our petition at the Supreme Court seeking permission to register an FIR against all the individuals mentioned in my husband’s note. But today the judge seemed in a mood to dismiss the case full and final in the courtroom itself. We had asked for administrative permission but since it came up before a judicial bench, we got apprehensive and hence we withdrew the case. Were you expecting such an outcome from the Supreme Court hearing?Maybe, yes. Because a lot of big personalities from the public sphere are named in the note. So I was anticipating some manipulation and political drama from the beginning. What is the next legal action or strategy that you are going to follow?I’m not aware of the legalities s
