why i never bring my water bottle when i travel

If you are a frequent traveler, like I have been at points in my life, packing your bag becomes almost second nature. You don't have to think about it; you just know what you need (and, just as importantly, what you don't). Over the years I have made the somewhat controversial decision to leave one item behind: my water bottle.
This is not to say I don't love a cute water bottle or that I don't hydrate. I do! I'm eyeing these Soma water bottles right now and I am a big proponent of hydration at all times. I just don't bring my water bottle with me. Here are three reasons why.
1. You can't actually bring any liquid with you.
If you are getting on a plane and passing through TSA, you cannot fill your water bottle with water or any other type of liquid. Your vessel of choice much be empty

Pope Francis has warned against the ramifications of aggravating water scarcity across the globe, saying that the crisis could lead to a third world war.“The right to water is essential for the survival of persons and decisive for the future of humanity,” Pope Francis said during a meeting with international experts participating in a ‘Dialogue on Water’ at the Pontifical Academy of Sciences on Friday.“All people have a right to safe drinking water. An 86-year-old mine has been found near an island in the southern part of Stockholm’s archipelago, not far from a sandy beach where revellers swim in the summer time.
The mine is a Swedish-made F31 which was produced in 1931, but it is currently unclear when it ended up in the sea.
"It's difficult to say exactly when it was used. We don't know if it would fire or if it was an exercise mine – it has been in the water for a long time and is coated with vegetation, so the markings can't be deciphered,” explained Mattias Robertson, communications officer at the Swedish Armed Forces HQ (HKV).
The mine, which has been temporarily secured so it doesn't float away, is to be detonated by military sta

five kilos of coins extracted from thai sea turtle

A turtle has had 5 kilograms of coins removed from her stomach, in what experts think is a world first operation. Thai veterinarians have removed 915 coins from a 25-year-old sea turtle which has been swallowing items thrown into her pool for good luck, eventually limiting her ability to swim. The coins and other objects removed from the turtle named Omsin - piggy bank in Thai - weighed 5 kg. The turtle itself weighed 59 kg.The green sea turtle, living at a conservation centre in Sriracha, Chonburi, east of the Thai capital of Bangkok, had been finding it hard to swim normally because of the weight. The vets said they believed the seven-hour-long operation was the world's first such surgery."We think it will take about a month to ensure she will fully recover," said Nantarika Chansue, of Chu

pink water: canadian town tap changes color

The Canadian town of Onoway, in Alberta, has apologized to locals after its drinking water turned bright pink.Residents started complaining about the water which suddenly changed color, on Monday night, CBC reports. In a Facebook post, the CBC reports, town authorities said that after several hours, the color change was caused by a "stuck valve," which allowed potassium permanganate, a chemical disinfectant into the water. The disinfectant is used to treat water and "residents were never at risk" the statement said."Could the town have done a better job of communicating what was going on yesterday to our community — absolutely, without a doubt," Mayor Dale Krasnow said on the town's website, according to the CBC. "We do apologize for that."

how to brew green tea

Perhaps you have tried green tea and decided you don't like it — it's too harsh, too grassy, or even bitter. Well, perhaps you just need a better brewing method! The perfect cup of green tea is flavorful, not too bitter, and one that speaks to your palate. new standards for better water quality in europe

view more Credit: UFZ / André KünzelmannThe European Water Framework Directive has been in force since 2000. Its purpose is to ensure that rivers, lakes, coastal waters and groundwater achieve a 'good status' by 2027. This means that bodies of water should contain only minimal pollutants and should provide a near-natural habitat for plants and animals. Crucially, the European Water Framework Directive looks at bodies of water without regard to international borders -- in the case of rivers, from source to estuary. "This is globally unique in this form. It's the reason why many countries regard the European Water Framework Directive as an ideal model," says envi
